| Kaleidoscope is not just a dancing school, but a dance company for young people, catering for the “rising 3 year olds” right through to young adults. Dancers receive training at the same time as preparing for the twice-yearly productions, which are toured around the community, not unlike an adult company.
For many students, exams are a frightening prospect, so Kaleidoscope has removed the exam system and has its own structured classes appropriate to the needs, ability and age of the individual child, where emotional development is considered to be as important as physical ability.
Many children are unsure as to the style of dancing they would prefer, and so they are encouraged to learn a combination of ballet and tap, with an injection of “fun dance”, a style of loose definition but suited to each class and with the emphasis on fun. |
